Thank God for My Dad!

June 19th, 2022 | by Diego Rodriguez

On this Father’s Day 2022, in the midst of a generation of insanity, I want to say THANK GOD FOR MY DAD! I think of all the pansy, effeminate, weak kneed, politically correct, fearful, whining, moaning, complaining, and ungodly excuses for men who are bringing forth children and “raising” them in this day to: concede to feminism, accept socialism, promote fascism, believe in evolution, and support queer ideology and I stand back and think—THANK GOD FOR MY DAD!

Only God knows where I would be today if it wasn’t for my Dad.

  • When I was a kid, if I fell down and got hurt, my Dad would tell me to walk it off and I’d be fine. And sure enough, I was.
  • When I was a kid, my Dad would spank me if I did wrong, and it taught me not to do wrong.
  • When I was a kid, if some kid at school hurt my feelings, my Dad taught me not to give others the power to ruin my day. I’ve carried that wisdom for me for over 40 years and it still bears fruit!
  • When I was a kid, my Dad taught me that certain things were true, and certain things were false. And he’s right!
  • When I was a kid, my Dad taught me the difference between right and wrong from the Bible. And the Bible became my foundation for morality to this day.
  • When I was a kid, the only queers my Dad let around were the ones who we smeared playing football in the front yard. (That’s “smear the queer” for those of you who are too young to know.)
  • When I was a kid, my Dad had me watching He-Man, Transformers, and G.I. Joe where I learned I could HAVE THE POWER and be more than meets the eye and use my brain because knowing is half the battle! My role models didn’t have daddy issues and they taught positive moral lessons. To this day I still know that I can do and be all of those things based on the decisions I make, and that my life is my responsibility and no one else’s.
  • When I was a kid, my Dad sat me down to next to him to watch Rambo, Rocky, Conan, Bloodsport, and dozens of other manly movies where the good guys have to fight evil forces, overcome their own flaws, and fight continuously against all obstacles to BOTH defeat the bad guys, and get the girl. And that is what I learned to do. And I got my girl, and we’re still enjoying each other after over 25 years!
  • When I was a kid, my Dad taught me to have a healthy respect for authority, but to never put my trust in government and to only obey God.
  • When I was a kid, my Dad taught me how to shoot guns, even automatic weapons, before I even reached double digits. And I’ve been shooting them ever since.
  • When I was a kid, my Dad taught me that I was the master of my own destiny and that no one else could decide or determine what I would become. He didn’t teach me to be a victim, or to ask the government to steal from “rich white guys” to give to me, and he didn’t teach me to cry and whine about my circumstances. He taught me to work hard and NOT to wish it were easier, but to wish I was better. He taught me that if I worked hard on my job I’d make a living, but if I worked hard on myself, I’d make a fortune. My Dad taught me to succeed, and so I did.

So to all the Dads out there who are like my Dad—God bless you! It is men like you, men like my Dad—who have preserved FREEDOM and TRUTH for at least one more generation. Now it’s up to those in my generation to pass it on to our kids and grandkids.

Thanks Dad. Thanks for the legacy you left me. I don’t know where I would be or who I would be without it.
